What Makes a Movie?

A movie is a film that is played on a screen. It can be scary, funny, or sad. The story in a movie is told by actors (people who act in the movies). The words they say are written on a piece of paper called a script. Then a cameraman records them using a film camera. A special person called the editor puts all the parts of the movie together to make it look and sound like one whole picture.

A good movie will keep the audience (people watching the movies) interested and excited about what will happen next. It will also have music, lighting and sets (man-made places in the studio where the movie is made) that help to create the feeling of what is happening. Romantic Comedies, for example, are about 2 people who fall in love. They usually have a happy ending. Horror movies use fear to excite the audience. They use things like darkness, scary noises, and loud music to do this. Science Fiction movies are about things that might happen in the future. They often have robots and things that can not be built in real life. Sports movies tell stories about sports (athletic competitions). They often have a lot of action and may be scary or exciting.

One of the most important things in making a good movie is a story. A good story will keep the audience (people watching the movies) excited about what will happen next. It will make them feel what the characters in the movie are feeling and thinking. The story should also be interesting. A good story will have a problem that the characters in the movie need to solve. The problem should be something that is worth solving.

Another important thing to consider when making a good movie is the acting of the actors in it. If the actors do not act well, the movie will not be as good. It is important to find actors who can act well in different situations. A good actor will be able to make the character they are playing seem realistic and believable.

Some movies are based on true events, while others are fictitious. The story in a fictional movie is not true, but the actors try to make it seem as believable as possible. For example, in a war film, the actors act as if they are fighting in the trenches.

Movies have come a long way since Auguste and Louis Lumiere first used their cinematograph machine to project moving images onto a screen in 1895. There are so many movies now that it is hard to choose the best ones. Some of them are old and are considered classics, but others are newer and are considered the best.

The art, craft & science of movie-making has come a long way over the years, so it is difficult to rank them. Some of the older movies can suffer a bit from their age, but if they are great films, then they should not be rated too badly.
