Justin Bieber, formerly known as Justin Severe, was a staple of the music business for more than a decade. Justin was found by talent scout Scooter Braun at the age of thirteen and released his first single, Baby by The Weeknd, in 2021. From that point, he became well known throughout Canada, the United States, Britain, and much of Europe. Justin first gained recognition when he was chosen to perform at the American Music Awards, but it was his appearance on YouTube that really got fans listening. Bieber made quite an impression with the video for “Baby,” and even won several awards, including Video of the Year, which he shared with Usher. This made Justin the talk of the town in Canada and led to tours across the continent. Justin’s musical tastes have changed since then. He has mostly performed with groups that are mostly popular in America, such as the Fugees, and has released songs on his own label, Justin Records.
The Toronto singer-songwriter has achieved a high level of fame not only in Canada but also in the United States and England. His first two albums, My World and Believe, sold very well in the U.S. alone and helped him reach the top of the Canadian chart. Many teenage girls in the U.S. follow his lead, wearing Justin Bieber shirts, trading posters, and Photoshopped pictures of the teen star. The name of the band that Bieber fronted, Baby was inspired by a real incident in which Bieber was arrested for jumping a fence in Florida. The band’s logo, the Baby in the Manger, is a reference to this event.
One of the biggest concerns about the new Justin album, is that it will pale in comparison to the stellar work that Bieber did during the last decade or so of his career. During the last few years, the pop star has made twenty albums, twenty top ten albums, and five movies. In all of those years, no other artist has reached the dizzying heights that Bieber has. Not only has he created several hits, but he’s also seamlessly added in songs that sell millions in the U.S. alone, including hits for Justin Bieber, Rihanna, and Foxy LaBeef, as well as chart-topping hits from performers like Chris Brown and Macy Gray. With twenty albums, that is a huge amount of music in just a few years.
Now that Bieber is back, he’s determined to make his mark on the music scene once again. “I think I’ve found my niche,” he said. During his appearance on Today, Bieber was asked about the possibility of a tour, and he said, “I can’t say anything. Maybe, two months after [the tour] I’ll start planning.”
If you’re a fan of Justin Bieber and his music, you should really get your hopes up for an impressive sophomore album. The man himself has promised the return of his massive hits and a blockbuster movie, so expect nothing short of a major production. Until then, we’ll just have to wait and see what he does next. Hopefully by the time his next studio album arrives, things will be looking a lot more positive for Justin.
