Whether or not you like him, there’s no denying Justin Bieber is an enormous cultural phenomenon. The young singer-actor has sold millions of records, starred in several documentary style movies and is one of the most recognizable faces in pop music. He has a large following on social media and has even his own clothing line.
A Canadian born and raised in Stratford, Ontario, Bieber grew up watching his mother work at multiple jobs to support them. She encouraged her son to sing and perform, even entering him in local talent contests where he came in second place. She later posted a video of him singing on the Web site YouTube, which went viral.
Bieber quickly got discovered by talent agent Scott (“Scooter”) Braun, who stumbled across the videos and invited him to record demos in Atlanta. Bieber was signed to a record deal in 2008.
His debut album, My World, was released in 2010 and quickly became a hit among preteen girls who considered him a heartthrob. The album, which was mostly glossy R&B influenced pop, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.
It was followed by two more albums, Believe and Purpose, both of which topped the charts. He also toured extensively with his Purpose tour and released a concert film, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.
In 2021, he released his sixth studio album, Justice. It included the global hits “Peaches” and “Where Are U Now.” It also received Grammy nominations for Song of the Year and Record of the Year. He also released a documentary style movie titled Justin Bieber: Our World.
The next year, he married model Hailey Baldwin and began a family with her. He also launched his own fashion label, Drew House. He and his wife have been together ever since and are the most recognizable couple in the world.
The rest of the Bieber clan, including his younger siblings, are all active in different areas of entertainment. His older brother Jazmyn is a rapper and DJ. His sister Jazmine is an actress and singer. His other sisters, Brandy and Madison, are both dancers.
