The Movies That Changed the World

Movies, or motion pictures, have long captivated the hearts and minds of millions of people around the world. From enthralling epics to tear-jerking tragedies, these works of art entertain, educate, and inspire. Whether they are a cinematic masterpiece like Schindler’s List or a blockbuster like Black Panther, movies have the power to change the world.

The movie industry is a large and lucrative business that includes filming, editing, and distribution. Its origins go back to the late 19th century when inventors such as Thomas Edison and the Lumiere brothers developed early moving picture cameras and projectors. The word “movie” comes from the Latin words for “fleet of images.” Movies can be fictional or non-fictional, and they can span many genres. For example, adventure movies often have heroes who go on long journeys to fight big things such as dragons. Movies can also be comedies, romances, or science fiction.

Horror movies use fear to excite the audience. They use music, lighting and sets (man-made places in movie studios) to create this feeling. Thrillers are a type of drama where there is a mystery or strange event that needs to be solved, and the audience is kept guessing until the end by ‘twists’ in the plot (surprises). Romantic comedies tell stories about two people who fall in love. They usually include romantic scenes and funny situations. Sports movies tell stories about people playing sports. They are sometimes based on true events or people, but are mostly fiction.

After Reservoir Dogs set him apart as a filmmaker with unmatched style and slick dialogue, Quentin Tarantino went on to create many more great films. From a gangster thriller to a harrowing civil rights drama, his films blend violence and thought-provoking topics.

Few movies have had such a profound effect on the cultural landscape as Schindler’s List. Francis Ford Coppola’s adaptation of the Corleone family saga may not have gotten top marks on Rotten Tomatoes, but it is a powerful and harrowing work that reminds us of one of the darkest chapters in human history.

This film has all the hallmarks of a classic romance, from the Simon and Garfunkel soundtrack to the luminous performances by Frances McDormand and Javier Bardem. But the real reason to see this movie is that it has a powerful message about equality and humanity. This is a must-see movie for any cinephile.
