Justin Bieber is a singer, rapper and songwriter. He is best known for his hit songs such as “Baby,” “Love Yourself,” and “Sorry.”
Born in 1994, he was raised by his mother Pattie Mallette in Stratford, Ontario. He is of French-Canadian, Irish, German, and English descent. He has three half-siblings through his father.
When he was young, he began singing and playing guitars, drums, and piano. He taught himself how to play them, and soon his talent became apparent. His mother posted videos of him performing on YouTube, and soon he had a large fan base.
He signed with a talent agent, Scooter Braun, who helped him get a record deal with Usher within two years of the start of his career. His music video for “Baby” went viral, and he was on the fast track to success.
His first album, My World, was released in 2009 and reached number one on the Billboard 200. It was certified platinum in the United States, Canada and Australia. It was also the most successful debut in music history with seven number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
In 2015, he released Purpose, which became an international success with each of its first three singles reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The album also featured collaborations with Major Lazer, DJ Snake and Luis Fonsi.
The title track from the album, “Purpose,” was released as a single on October 11, 2015. The song went to number-one in many countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. It was the biggest-selling song in the United States by a male artist in more than a decade.
Another song from the album, “Sorry,” was also a top-ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and charted in several countries. It was also nominated for the Grammy Award for Record of the Year and Song of the Year in 2016.
After his 2014 arrest for driving intoxicated, Justin made it a point to stay open and honest about his health woes. His social media posts were a source of information about his Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a debilitating condition that affects the facial nerves and causes paralysis.
He is now undergoing treatment for the illness. He has been completely transparent about his fight against the disease, and he has even shared photos of himself with the condition.
As of 2017, he was on a six-month break from touring to focus on his music and health. He is scheduled to return in 2020 for a new tour.
His sixth studio album, Justice, will be released in 2021. In 2018, he married model Hailey Baldwin, and the couple have three children together: 5-year-old son Silas and 2-year-old twin daughters.
During his marriage to Hailey, Justin had been experiencing health problems, but he is now back on track and has been releasing music regularly. He is currently working on a new album.
