An Overview of Movies That Tell Stories

A movie, also known as a motion picture, video, or independent film, is an artistic work of visual art designed to simulate real experiences, stories, senses, emotions, beauty, or ambiance through the use of non-moving pictures. These works may be of a purely visual nature, with no audible components. Or they may contain audible sounds, such as spoken dialog. The term “moviemaker” is sometimes applied to a director but is more commonly applied to the film industry itself. Motion picture production can be of several different types, including home videos, stage shows, commercials, or animated films and cartoons.

Most motion pictures are intended to entertain as well as tell stories. The majority of movies are produced by large Hollywood film studios. But independent producers and filmmakers are increasingly able to tap into the movie industry via the Internet. Web based video producers can sell their products directly to consumers via online websites, and on retail stores.

Some independent producers make their videos for marketing purposes, such as promoting a movie that is premiering at the upcoming Sundance Film Festival. Other independent filmmakers use videos to tell stories about real events happening in the world today. These are often called “Documentaries,” and feature interviews with people who have had important events impact their lives. Many movies that tell stories about current events are often promoted with a special effects background score.

Motion pictures are designed to inform, while entertainment is designed to entertain. Most movie theaters will provide a cover during the credits or commercial to hide the actual movie content from the audience. However, these covers are designed to hide only the central movie sequence, and the viewer has to look elsewhere to find out what is taking place within the film. For this reason, movies often tell multiple stories and point of view throughout the entire movie, and many of the best motion pictures ever made are multi-layered with story elements and action sequences.

A popular movie that tells multiple stories and shows many characters is The Social Network. The movie focuses on the minutia of personal lives of individuals as they socialize and develop friendships on a social networking website. It follows the daily lives of the members of a fictitious online community and delves into the lives of individuals as they interact with one another. The movie’s main conflict occurs when one of the friends decides to pursue a romantic relationship with a man she met online.

Another great example of a multi-faceted movie is The Informant! This is an award-winning movie that tells the story of an insider secrets trial held against an NSA official. The movie reveals how the official took money from government agencies in exchange for classified information. While some people may see this movie as a touchy and serious story, others will enjoy it because they will learn about different ways how the government lies to the public in order to protect them. Other examples of multi-faceted movies include The Pursuit of Happyness and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
